Boulder County COVID-19 Update: Latest Numbers, Site Closures

Boulder County Public Health will begin ramping down COVID-19 testing locations.

BOULDER COUNTY, CO — Over the past two weeks, 205 new cases of the coronavirus have been reported in Boulder County, according to the latest public health data.

"Boulder County Public Health will begin ramping down COVID-19 testing locations," the agency said in a news release. "As vaccinations go up, the need for ongoing testing sites has diminished. Symptomatic community members are still encouraged to get tested even if they have been vaccinated."

More than 213,000 Boulder County residents — or 74 percent of the eligible population — have received at least one dose of their vaccine, according to Boulder County Public Health. Around 187,000 residents — 65 percent of the county — are fully inoculated.

Closing/modified schedule for testing sites:

  • Boulder County Fairgrounds - Wednesday will be the last day for operations. Boulder County Public Health is seeking a new site and will announce details in the coming weeks, officials said.
  • St. Vrain Valley Schools Innovation Center - June 18 will be the last day for operations.
  • Stazio Ballfields - The last day for operations is scheduled for Sept. 30. The county will continue to assess usage in the coming months, officials said.

  • Lyons testing site at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints ended on May 28.
  • Nederland Community Center testing site will continue on a month-to-month basis.
  • Testing within shelters will continue on a month-to-month basis.

As of Saturday, 23,820 people in the county had tested positive for the virus since the outbreak began. The death toll has remained at 257 over the past several weeks.

Around 821 people have been hospitalized in the county since the outbreak began, and seven new hospitalizations were reported over the past two weeks.
