Boulder County, Colo. - On June 16, 2021, at approximately 8:24 a.m. the Boulder County Communications Center received a 911 call of a bicyclist down in the area of the 500 block of Chapman Drive. The caller advised that the male party was with other riders and the incident was not related to an accident.

The approximately 60-year-old male victim was on a group ride up the Chapman Drive Trail when they stopped to take a break. Shortly after stopping, the victim collapsed. Fellow riders provided cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and rescuers joined in this effort upon arrival. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The following agencies assisted with this incident: Boulder Rural Fire Department, Four Mile Fire Department, Boulder Mountain Parks and Open Space, Boulder County Parks and Open Space, American Medical Response (AMR), Boulder County Sheriff's Office, and Boulder County Coroner's Office.

The cause and manner of death will be determined by the Boulder County Coroner’s Office. At this time, there are no indications of foul play.
