Fogelberg, a songwriter, composer and multi-instrumentalist, was known for his songs "Longer" (1979), "Same Old Lang Syne" (1980) and "Leader of the Band" (1982). Born in Illinois, he moved to Colorado and also spent time living on a ranch near Pagosa Springs.
