Boulder Police To Release Officer-Initiated Stop Data
Officials will also host a series of community forums for discussion and to answer questions about the findings.
BOULDER, CO — The Boulder Police Department will release its first full year of officer-initiated stop data at the end of the month, and plans to host a series of three community forums to discuss the findings. According to a news release, the department hopes the sessions will provide an opportunity for collaboration and communication around equitable policing in town.
The data will be formally presented during the first forum on April 30 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., and it will also be made available online the same day. The forum will be held at the Jewish Community Center at 6007 Oreg Ave. There will be space for 90 active participants, as well as some overflow seats for observers.
The evening will include a question and answer period and small-group community conversations. It will be facilitated by Dr. Carolyn Love, who is also guiding the upcoming Police Oversight Task Force process. Members of the Police Department, the Innovation and Technology Department, the Communications Department and the City Manager’s Office will be present and participate in the table discussions.
