Boulder's Conference On World Affairs Kicks Off Tuesday
2019 presenters include presidential candidate Amy Klobuchar, soccer star Hope Solo, and The Simpsons writer Mike Reiss.
BOULDER, CO -- Every April, 100 luminaries from across the world gather in Boulder for the Conference on World Affairs, a week of thought-provoking performances, discussions, and speeches. The 71st edition of the conference kicks off this Tuesday, and the speakers for this year include 2020 presidential candidate Amy Klobuchar, soccer star Hope Solo, and The Simpsons writer Mike Reiss.
All events are free and open to the public, and attendance at each session ranges from 100 to 2,000, according to the conference website. This year's five-day schedule offers more than 200 events, and the City of Boulder's HOP bus will provide free rides throughout the conference week. For those unable to attend in person, many sessions will be available via livestream.
2019's conference will center around three themes: "Design for Connection: Breaking the Bubble," "Disruptive Technology," and "Women & Children Changing the World." Check out the full CWA schedule, and be sure to download the conference app that will help you plan your week and allow you to ask questions of panelists during many of the sessions.
