BVSD, SVVSD Cancel School Wednesday Amid Search For Armed Woman

Police say the woman has a shotgun and was in the Denver/Littleton area Tuesday afternoon.

BOULDER, CO -- Shortly after midnight, both Boulder Valley and St. Vrain Valley School Districts announced that classes and before and after-school activities would be cancelled on Wednesday due to an ongoing threat as Front Range police and the FBI search for an armed woman believed to be in the area. According to information from the FBI and Jefferson County Sheriff's Department, Sol Pais, 18, travelled to Colorado on Tuesday, is considered armed and extremely dangerous, and has made threats against schools.

Pais is reported to be "infatuated with (the) Columbine school shooting," and arrived in the area from Miami with a shotgun and ammunition.

Pais was described as a white female, 18 years old, approximately 5'5" in height, with brown hair. She was last seen wearing a black t-shirt, camouflage pants, and black boots. She was last seen in the foothills of Jefferson County, according to a Jefferson County Sheriff's spokesperson. Anyone with information about Pais's whereabouts is asked to call 911, or the FBI's hotline at (303) 630-6227.
