Colorado Pie Shop Named Among Best In America

BOULDER, CO — Thrillist has released a list of 'The Best Pie Shops in America," and a Colorado spot made the cut. The list of 18 shops includes "new-school bakeries, old-school diners, holes-in-the-wall, baking empires, and everything in between," the report read.

Shamane's Bake Shoppe, at 2825 Wilderness Place in Boulder, was the only Colorado pie shop named on the list. While the report noted that the shop isn't in a more romantic, mountain locale — as its address would suggest — "some of the best places are tucked away," editors said.

"... inside you’ll find an adorable 20-seat cafe, packed with the town’s many tech company employees filling up on savory pies like the uber-popular chicken pot pie, plus extremely Colorado selections like the egg-packed breakfast pot pie with green chile or bison-filled pasties," the report read.

Thrillist suggested finishing a meal with one of Shamane's "flaky, delectable cherry mini pies, chocolate walnut bourbon espresso Derby pies, or apple wildberry galettes made with that ultra-rich European butter that piles on the decadence."

The ranking, which includes shops that make both savory and dessert pies, features spots in Illinois, Georgia, Maryland, Wisconsin, California, Florida, Oregon, Indiana, Tennessee, Alabama, Michigan, South Carolina, Maine and of course, New York.
