Find Your Pioneer Career At Walker Ranch Homestead
Costumed volunteers will demonstrate Old Fashioned Jobs such as preparing meals on a wood stove and blacksmithing Sunday June 10.

BOULDER COUNTY, CO – Throw yourself into Laura Ingalls Wilder mode this weekend for free 19th Century emersion activities at the Walker Ranch Homestead. Costumed volunteer pioneers in sunbonnets and gingham will demonstrate long-lost skills at the Summer Heritage Day: Old Fashioned Jobs event Sunday, June 10.
Chores and jobs of the late 1880s will be demonstrated such as preparing meals on a wood stove and blacksmithing. You can experience life in the 1880s with hands-on craft projects, one-room school sessions, and even "drilling like a miner."
Kids can ogle penny candy, dry goods and sundries at the Mr. and Mrs. Oleson-style general store and also learn about pioneer fire fighting by taking part in a "bucket brigade."
