How To Help Those Impacted By The Boulder Shooting

Donation campaigns are underway to support those impacted by Monday's shooting at King Soopers in Boulder.

BOULDER, CO — Donation campaigns have sprouted up to help those affected by Monday’s deadly shooting in Boulder that took the lives of 10 people.

The Boulder Office of Emergency Management is maintaining a list of verified campaigns that will directly benefit survivors.

The Colorado Healing Fund is a nonprofit organization that works with law enforcement agencies and other charities to help provide support for survivors of mass tragedies. The fund was established through the Colorado Attorney General’s Office and, according to its website, provides “a safe way for people to give after a mass tragedy in Colorado.” It’s currently collecting funds for victims of the shooting.

The Community Foundation Boulder County is also collecting money of Monday's tragedy through its crisis fund. The organization said the money will "support the needs of those directly affected and the needs of our community to heal from this horrendous event.”

A collection drive has been started by the Colorado State Lodge Fraternal Order of Police to help support the family of Boulder Police Officer Eric Talley, who was the first officer at the scene of the shooting and died.

Mental health support services are also being offered by the city of Boulder to help those affected by Monday's tragedy. Residents can also call or text the Disaster Distress Helpline at (800) 985-5990 for immediate assistance.

Free in-person services for mental and emotionally support is also available at the University of Colorado Boulder Events Center at 950 Regent Drive. The center is open daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
