Injured Dog Rescued From Trail Near Boulder
A dog was injured while hiking with his owner on the Fern Canyon Trail, deputies said.

BOULDER, CO — Crews rescued a dog Sunday evening from a trail in Boulder County.
The 8-year-old German Shepherd mix from Golden suffered paw injuries while he was hiking with his owner on the Fern Canyon Trail, the Boulder County Sheriff's Office said.
His owner contacted the Boulder County Communications Center around 5:15 p.m., and the rescue lasted around two and a half hours, the office said.

The Rocky Mountain Rescue Group used a litter to carry the dog to the trailhead, and the owner took the dog to a veterinarian.
