Man Critically Injured In Fall From Second Flatiron: Sheriff

BOULDER, CO -- A man was hospitalized with critical injuries after falling 50 to 60 feet while scrambling on the Second Flatiron Tuesday morning, according to a news release from the Boulder County Sheriff's Office. Nearby climbers found the 26-year-old man and called 911 shortly before 10 a.m.
The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks, the Rocky Mountain Rescue Group and American Medical Response responded to the incident at 101 Bluebell Ave. The Rocky Mountain Rescue Group performed a technical vertical litter evacuation followed by a scree evacuation to get the man down safely. He was then transported to a local hospital. No further information about his condition has been released.
