Prescribed Burning Around Teller Lake, East Of Boulder

If you see smoke east of Boulder, it could be prescribed burning. Here's where and when it's set to occur.

BOULDER, CO — Prescribed burning began Monday around Teller Lake in Boulder County.

The burning will occur near 95th Street and Valmont Road until April 30, Boulder fire and parks officials said. Fire crews are burning cattails to improve the flow of irrigation water to agricultural fields.

Cattails also reduce breeding habitat for northern leopard frogs, a species that's at risk, Colorado Parks and Wildlife said.
