Scott Carpenter Pool Closed For 2019, Renovations Begin
Construction begins this week on new features that will include a lazy river, tower slides, and a climbing wall.
BOULDER, CO -- Summer days by the pool may seem far away, but it is set to be a big week at Scott Carpenter Park. Construction is scheduled to begin on renovations at the pool that will keep it closed through summer 2020.
The City's Scott Carpenter Pool Enhancement Project will add a raft of features to the existing facility including including a lap pool with ten 50-meter lanes, a lazy river, climbing wall, and tower slides. The current bathhouse will also be completely remodeled and expanded with a new addition.
The construction will also include rerouting of an irrigation ditch pipe under the outfield of the Scott Carpenter baseball field, and demolition activities are expected to begin in early March.
