Small Plane Makes Emergency Landing In Wellington

An aircraft was forced to land in a field in northern Colorado, officials said.

WELLINGTON, CO — A small airplane made an emergency landing Friday north of Fort Collins after its engine failed, according to Northern Colorado Regional Airport officials.

The plane landed in a field in Wellington, officials said.

Search and rescue operations were underway. Two people were on the plane, and they were taken to area hospitals, the Wellington Fire Protection District said. The extent of their injuries was not known.
