Team Of Comfort Dogs Sent To Boulder In Wake Of Shooting: Photos

PHOTOS: A team of expert comfort dogs was deployed to Boulder to help the community heal. The trained pups knew just what to do.

BOULDER, CO — Cubbie, Eddie, Moses, Katie, Devorah and Joanna traveled to Boulder Wednesday to do what they do best — give their human friends some love when they need it the most.

The six comfort dogs made their way around the city to the spots where community members were gathered in mourning. One of those spots was outside the grocery store where 10 people were shot to death Monday. Loved ones, friends and co-workers gathered outside the store to shed tears and remember the lives lost.

The Lutheran Church Charities K-9 Comfort Dog Ministry sent the dogs from Fort Collins and Nebraska. The organization, which is dedicated to helping those who've suffered a loss, also placed 10 hearts and crosses outside the fence that surrounds the grocery store.
