Boulder County issued the following recommendations (these are not requirements, but provide guidance for businesses and people):
Individuals:
- BCPH continues to recommend that all individuals age 2+ years who have not been fully vaccinated should continue to practice physical social distancing of six feet, handwashing and wearing face coverings whenever near members of other households who are not fully vaccinated and when outside of childcare or other school settings.
Businesses and Organizations:
- Businesses should review the State’s Civil Rights Guidance when developing policies
- BCPH recommends that businesses and organizations evaluate whether to require a face covering in public indoor settings until 80% of the total population in Boulder County has been fully vaccinated, using with the following considerations:
- Public-facing businesses:
- Unvaccinated staff should wear masks
- If staff are fully vaccinated, business can post a sign letting people know that’s why masks are removed
- Require a mask for public unless they indicate they are vaccinated
- Lower risk (non-public facing) businesses:
- Unvaccinated individuals should wear a mask when around other unvaccinated individuals
- Implement policies to allow individuals, especially those who are not old enough or who have compromised immunity to assess own risk, such as informing members or employees of the percentage of vaccinated individuals; required unvaccinated individuals to wear masks; schedule classes or times when face coverings are required; move activities outdoors.
- Public-facing businesses:
- Children 2 years or older must wear masks while on conveyances and at transportation hubs, such as shared rides and public transportation.
