400 Lb. Moose Tranquilized, Moved From Westminster Yard
Colorado Parks and Wildlife rangers transported a yearling moose to Park County that had wandered into a Westminster neighborhood.

WESTMINSTER, CO – A Westminster family woke up early Friday morning to see a 400 lb. moose wandering through the neighborhood around 5:30 a.m.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife and the Westminster Police rushed to the scene and tranquilized the animal which CPW agents said was a yearling cow, on a front lawn. The moose was scooted into a horse trailer, where CPW officers relocated her to a habitat near Fairplay in Park County.
“It’s not common but certainly not rare for moose to be seen along the foothills. They can cover immense distances when just wandering and grazing,” Lauren Truitt with CPW told 9NEWS. “Obviously the urban environment is not ideal moose habitat but we do get them as visitors.” Truitt said officials tagged the moose to track her in the wild.
