Broomfield Heights Middle School Evacuated On False Alarm: Police
Emergency procedures were followed perfectly after a contractor accidentally flipped an alarm switch, the district said.

BROOMFIELD, CO – Broomfield Police gave the all clear around 12:15 p.m. after an evacuation of Broomfield Heights Middle School Friday morning at 1555 Daphne St.
"It appears that one of our contractors accidently tripped our lockdown alarm," said a letter to parents sent home by the Boulder Valley School District.
"Students and staff did a great job, immediately activating their lockdown procedures, which include Locks, Lights, Out of Sight.

Once Broomfield Police responded to the building they were able to determine that there was no immediate threat. They had us evacuate students so they could sweep the building as a precautionary measure. Nothing unusual was found, so school has returned to normal operations," the letter said.
@BroomfieldPD responded to a security alert alarm at Broomfield Heights Middle School. The school was evacuated to ensure student safety. It was learned the alarm was an accidental trip and there was no emergency. Students are returning to class.
