On June 22, 2021 Mayor Pro Tem and Ward 5 Councilmember Guyleen Castriotta was elected to serve as the Mayor following the resignation of Mayor Pat Quinn. As such, a vacancy was created for one of the two Ward 5 Councilmember positions. Qualified Ward 5 residents are invited to apply to fill this vacancy. The term to which a resident will be appointed is from July 13, 2021 to the end of the existing term; November 16, 2021.
