BROOMFIELD, CO — A new escape room has opened in Broomfield with an ancient Egyptian theme. Fans of old tombs, relics and mysterious curses can investigate their way out of the room, which is produced by Themescape.

The Gate Escape Room, at 6811 120th Ave., is based on a tomb that's been unearthed during an excavation project.

"We have learned the door that has been discovered is a gateway to a curse that will unleash darkness upon the world," Themescape's website reads. "A top secret military department has now constructed a device around the gate to protect the world from the powers that lie beyond its threshold."

With every minute that passes, the device grows weaker and the curse grows stronger, creators said.

"Now we must crack the code, enter the tomb, and finally put the curse to rest."
