Juvenile Arrested After 'Threats' To Broomfield HS

A juvenile is facing charges false reporting of explosives, false reporting and interfering with an educational institution, police said.

BROOMFIELD, CO – After an investigation, Broomfield police on Wednesday arrested a juvenile in connection with recent school threats that closed down Broomfield High School last week.

Police did not name the underage person who is facing charges false reporting of explosives, false reporting and interfering with an educational institution.

The underage person reportedly called in threats against the school and students via the Safe2Tell app, which led to a 30 minute lockout at Broomfield High School and Broomfield Heights Middle School Tuesday afternoon and an "early release" of the high school last week, police said.

"We live here too and take any and all threats of school violence very seriously," a statement fro the police department said. "the impact of these 'false threats' [is] far-reaching and extremely time consuming, diverting police resources from people who truly need our help while also disrupting education of thousands of students. The consequences are real."
