Master Gardener Classes Offered In Broomfield Via CSU Extension

Gardeners with a love of growing things and a passion to share their knowledge can become certified in Broomfield County.

BROOMFIELD, CO – Master gardeners have a dirty secret. They love dirt. They also love growing things and sharing their knowledge with others. If you have an interest in gardening and a desire to help others, then becoming a master gardener may be the volunteer opportunity for you.

Becoming a master gardener through the CSU Extension in Broomfield County is like a college course, or a bunch of college courses. Enrollees take classes for about three months in horticulture–from soil science to entomology–but they don't have to pay tuition. Master gardeners then become the gardening resources for the rest of us.

CSU Extension's Master Gardening program is now accepting applications for the 2019 training, which begins Jan. 23 and ends April 10. The training is a combination of online and in-person classes. Location rotates between the Broomfield County Extension office, Denver Botanic Gardens, and Jefferson County Fairgrounds. Classes will be held on Wednesdays from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., with an hour break for lunch.
