My Morning Jacket Takes a Break: Final Shows In Broomfield Colo.

The Louisville, Kentucky-based band will take a touring hiatus in 2018 but individual members will perform as solo acts and with others.

BROOMFIELD, CO -- Three shows around New Year's Eve at Broomfield's 1st Bank Center will be the last performances of Louisville, Kentucky-based My Morning Jacket for awhile, according to reports. The band declared an official touring hiatus for 2018, with the exception of a March performance at the Hard Rock Hotel Punta Canta, the music site ShowtheShow.com reported.

My Morning Jacket will perform all-ages shows at 8 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 29-31 with opening acts the Revolution, the tUnE-yArDs and Karl Denson's Tiny Universe.

The band announced that $1 from every ticket purchased for the New Year’s Eve run of shows will go to My Morning Jacket’s Waterfall Project, which will benefit to the following organizations: The Advancement Project, Emergency Family Assistance Association, and Everytown for Gun Safety. Established in 2015, the Project is "dedicated to supporting and promoting actions, big and small, for positive change in the world," the band said.

Members will continue to perform as solo acts and with other musicians, the report said.

Jim James will release a collection of acoustic cover song recordings called Tribute to 2, in December. Drummer Patrick Hallahan is producing Petty Fest, scheduled in Louisville for Nov. 22. Carl Broemel and Bo Koster will tour with Ray LaMontagne, the report said.
