No Charges For Broomfield HS Softball Coach

A Boulder Valley School District teacher and coach remains on administrative leave, but police found no wrongdoing, administrators said.

BROOMFIELD, CO – No charges of misconduct against a Broomfield High School girls softball coach will be filed, Broomfield police confirmed.

Coach Paula Seifried, who also teaches science at the school, remains on administrative leave, said Randy Barber, Boulder Valley School District spokesperson Thursday.

"BVSD is now in the process of finishing its investigation," Barber said in an email.

Seifried has taught at BHS since 2006, according to her homepage on the school website.

The purported allegations erupted just as the team was entering a weekend tournament. Assistant coaches Phil Kessler and Courtney Harrelson took over Seifried's duties with the team.

Earlier in the year, Jason Lee Davis, 43, a male coach on a Broomfield travel girls softball team was convicted of sexually assaulting a girl, age 15, at the Thornton Recreation Center in 2017. He was sentenced to five years in community corrections.

It was unclear what the school's next step would be, or what Seifried's remedy would be if she were to file a grievance with the district.
