School districts in Broomfield will adjust schedules to accommodate the teacher rallies in Denver April 26, 27.

BROOMFIELD, CO -- School districts in Broomfield are accommodating the teachers who are participating in rallies this week to lobby Colorado lawmakers to devote more money for public school funding. About 10,000 teachers are expected to participate in the Colorado Education Association-sponsored walkouts and "grade ins" at the state Capitol.

Teachers are asking legislators to devote some of Colorado' surplus budget to education and to shore up the PERA retirement fund. Colorado teachers' salaries ranked in the bottom five of all 50 states in 2017. Broomfield schools in Adams 12 district are already considering shortening the teacher week to four-days because of financial pinches.
