Colorado's first state community vaccination sites opened Wednesday in Colorado Springs and Grand Junction. The sites are being run in partnership with Centura Health and Mesa County Public Health, respectively.

The drive-through site at the Broadmoor World Arena will begin offering 2,000 COVID-19 vaccines each day, and once there is enough supply, the site will offer 6,000 vaccinations each day, Gov. Jared Polis said.

The clinic, at 3185 Venetucci Blvd., will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. People who are eligible to receive the vaccine can register here or by calling 720-263-5737.

The Grand Junction site will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Coloradans can sign up here in English, or here in Spanish.

All Coloradans ages 50 and older will become eligible to receive the vaccine beginning Friday.

“We have made incredible progress in vaccinating our most vulnerable here in Colorado, including now having vaccinated 77 percent of Coloradans ages 70 and older," Polis said.

"But until we can get more shots into arms, let’s continue to do our part to stay safe and protect others from this deadly virus and wear a mask around others."

The state is set to launch other community vaccination sites in Denver, Mesa, Adams, Pueblo and Larimer counties, public health officials said.
