COLORADO SPRINGS, CO -- The nation is about to celebrate its 241st birthday, and it's time to watch the glorious explosions we know as fireworks. Events in the Colorado Springs area range from simple fireworks shows to day-long extravaganzas.

Saturday, July 1
- Cripple Creek 4th of July Celebration
- Live entertainment in the Brass Ass parking lot at the corner of Bennett Avenue and 3rd Street. Starts at noon, fireworks at 9:30 p.m. Food vendors and beer garden. Free.

- Falcon Freedom Days at Meridian Ranch
- 6:30 a.m. pancake breakfast, 5k and 10k races and more. Fireworks begin at 9:30 p.m., free admission.
Monday, July 3
- Cheyenne Mountain State Park
- Fort Carson fireworks display begins around 9 p.m.
Tuesday, July 4
- Sky Sox Fireworks Celebration
- Hot dogs, baseball and fireworks. Free mini-American flag for the first thousand fans. Game starts at 7 p.m., fireworks afterwards.
Tuesday, July 4
- Manitou Springs Fireworks
- Downtown Manitou Springs. 9 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., fireworks launched from Higginbotham Flats.
Tuesday, July 4
- Summer Symphony and Fireworks
- Free to attend, family friendly. U.S. Air Force Academy Band's Blue Steel Ensemble followed by the Colorado Springs Philharmonic. Start time 5:30 p.m., fireworks at approximately 9 p.m.
Tuesday, July 4
- Tri-Lakes 4th of July Celebration
- 7 a.m. pancake breakfast at St. Peter Catholic Church in Monument. Kids' parade at 9:30 a.m., street fair until 3 p.m. Concerts and beer garden. Back to Palmer Lake, and fireworks at 9 p.m. over the lake.
