Great Things Happening at the Airport
Construction has started on the first floor of the airport. The rehabilitation project will include new flooring, LED lighting, paint, as well as higher ceilings and updated restrooms. In addition to the rehabilitation, new escalators will be installed as part of the airport’s capital improvement project (CIP). This project is anticipated to be complete by the spring of 2020.
Another construction project is nearing completion. A solar covered carport in the valet parking lot is the airport’s latest sustainability project. It will house 36 parking spaces. The solar photovoltaic system is expected to offset some of the electric energy used by the airport facilities. This pilot solar carport is in the valet parking lot and will cost $5.00 per day above the standard valet parking rate of $14.00 per day.
