Colorado Springs Police Department: Sexual Assault Arrest

n February 22, 2021, the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) learned of a sexual assault that occurred on February 20, 2021. The CSPD Special Victims Section immediately initiated a criminal investigation into the incident. During their investigation, detectives linked this incident to an on-going, separate sexual assault investigation that was initiated in 2020. Through their work, detectives were able to positively identify the suspect and discover one additional victim.

In February 2021, the suspect, identified as 28-year-old Yanzong Shi, was arrested for two counts of unlawful sexual contact and two counts of unauthorized practice of massage therapy. The sexual assaults occurred at 99 Massage, which is a massage parlor located at 3659 Austin Bluffs Parkways, Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Although an arrest has been made, this still remains an active investigation. CSPD Special Victims detectives continue to seek additional information regarding this investigation, including identifying potential unreported incidences involving Mr. Shi.
