Dog Patch Memory Project Hosts Walking Oral History Collection
El Pueblo History Museum will go into the community to find maps, pictures and memories from residents.

From El Pueblo History Museum: El Pueblo History Museum will host a neighborhood walk and recording session for the Dog Patch Memory Project on Saturday, March 24, at noon, at the St. Anne’s Pavilion, 2701 E 12th Street.
The Dog Patch Memory Project is a community-based public history project that will document the stories of the Dog Patch, or Eastwood Heights, neighborhood in Pueblo, Colorado. For this walking oral history collection day, current and former residents of Dog Patch are invited to tour the neighborhood, letting the physical places they pass be the inspiration for storytelling. Facilitators will record the memories of the people who live or have lived in the neighborhood.
For community members who are not up for a walk, maps, pictures, and recording opportunities will be available at the pavilion after the walk from 2 to 3 pm.
The neighborhood walk and collection day is free and open to current and former residents of Dog Patch and their family members. Refreshments will be provided. The memories recorded during this session and over the coming months will become part of a future exhibit at El Pueblo History Museum. For more information, call José Ortega at 583-0453.
