Pueblo Craigslist Puppy Had Rabies: Health Department
Pueblo authorities are seeking people who sold a puppy on Craigslist in Penrose that tested positive for rabies.

PENROSE, CO -- Pueblo health officials are looking for dog owners who sold a puppy on Craigslist in Penrose that later died of rabies.
"Public Health needs help to find where this puppy came from to protect people from a chance of getting sick or dying from rabies," the Pueblo Department of Public Health & Environment said in a statement.
The red min-pinscher mix puppy was sold April 12, the health department said.

Rabies is 99.9 percent fatal if a human is infected, the health department said. Staff are working with Fremont and El Paso County health departments to identify and offer treatment to the people who sold the puppy.
