DENVER, CO — Many Denver homes are filled with rich history, but with modern finishes, structural upgrades and fresh coats of paint, the true story of a home can remain hidden. Fortunately, many local homeowners strive to not only maintain old homes, but highlight their oldest parts with pride.

There are currently more than 250 homes listed for sale in Denver that are more than 100 years old. While some no longer look like they once did, others appear, at least from the outside, exactly like they did at the turn of the 20th century.

This home in the Morgan's historic district was named 2018 Home of the Year by 5280 Magazine. Listing agents called the home "part Great Gatsby and part Downton Abbey."


1070 N Humboldt St - $4.5 million:

  • 11,000 square feet

The Thompson-Henry Mansion in the Humboldt Street Historic District overlooks Cheesman Park. Designed by the Baerresen Brothers, the SF Georgian-Revival Style home features a classical facade, semicircular portico and Palladian windows.


120 N Humboldt St - $3.7 million:

This landmark home in the Country Club Historic neighborhood was designed by noted architect Jacques Benedict in 1912. The home has been updated but is well-preserved, listing agents said. The home features grand rooms and leaded glass windows.


2181 S Clayton St. - $3.2 million:

  • 7,400 square feet

This home was restored with a $2 million renovation in 2008 "with the intention to not only restore the house to match its Denver square roots, but to install new infrastructure throughout to prepare it for the next 100 years," listing agents said.
