Daily coronavirus case numbers in Colorado have surged over the past week, state public health officials said.
Between Friday afternoon and Saturday afternoon, 1,253 new cases of the coronavirus were reported in Colorado.
As of Saturday, 477,443 cases of the coronavirus have been reported in the state among more than 2,788,300 people who have been tested since the outbreak began, health officials confirmed. Around 26,256 people have been hospitalized.

Colorado's COVID-19 death toll:
- Deaths among cases: 6,155
- Deaths due to COVID-19: 6,296
More than 2 million Coloradans have received at least their first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, according to state data. More than 1.2 million are fully immunized.

Around 30 percent of the state's critical care ventilators were in use as of Saturday, according to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.

Around 9 percent of Colorado hospitals reported anticipating staff shortages over the next week, and 3 percent of facilities reported anticipating ICU bed shortages.
