Colorado Coronavirus Update: 1,572 New Cases Reported
Here are the latest coronavirus numbers in Colorado. Around half of all new cases are variants, public health officials said.
Daily coronavirus case numbers in Colorado have surged over the past several weeks, state public health officials said.
Between Wednesday afternoon and Thursday afternoon, 1,572 new cases of the coronavirus were reported in Colorado.
As of Thursday, 509,194 cases of the coronavirus have been reported in the state among more than 2,903,219 people who have been tested since the outbreak began, health officials confirmed. Around 27,710 people have been hospitalized.

- Deaths among cases: 6,284
- Deaths due to COVID-19: 6,443
More than 2.5 million Coloradans have received at least their first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, according to state data. More than 1.8 million — around 40 percent of the state's eligible population — are fully immunized.
Around 37 percent of the state's critical care ventilators were in use as of Thursday, according to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.

Around 7 percent of Colorado hospitals reported anticipating staff shortages over the next week, and 5 percent of facilities reported anticipating ICU bed shortages.
