Colorado Coronavirus Update: 829 New Cases Reported

Here are the latest coronavirus numbers in Colorado. Around half of all new cases are variants, public health officials said.

Daily coronavirus case numbers in Colorado have surged over the past several weeks, state public health officials said.

Between Saturday afternoon and Sunday afternoon, 829 new cases of the coronavirus were reported in Colorado.

As of Sunday, 513,765 cases of the coronavirus have been reported in the state among more than 2,920,270 people who have been tested since the outbreak began, health officials confirmed. Around 28,083 people have been hospitalized.

At least half of all new cases are variants, public health officials said.

  • Deaths among cases: 6,304
  • Deaths due to COVID-19: 6,449

More than 2.6 million Coloradans have received at least their first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, according to state data. More than 1.9 million — over 40 percent of the state's eligible population — are fully immunized.

Around 37 percent of the state's critical care ventilators were in use as of Sunday, according to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.

Around 8 percent of Colorado hospitals reported anticipating staff shortages over the next week, and 5 percent of facilities reported anticipating ICU bed shortages.
