Denver Food Bank Available For Furloughed Gov. Workers
Weinberg Food Pantry in Denver offers a week's worth of food, baby formula, toiletries and/or pet food for government workers on furlough.

DENVER, CO – Government employees who are working without pay during the government shutdown are invited to visit the Weinberg Food Pantry in Denver for a week's worth of food, baby formula, toiletries and/or pet food.
The pantry, offered by Jewish Family Services is available to people of all faiths and backgrounds.
To register, call the hotline at 720.248.4716 and leave your name and phone number and mention your situation. The agency will return your call as soon as possible.

The pantry provides a "nutritionally balanced supply of shelf-stable food that is expected to last five to seven days," according to the website.

- Fresh fruits, vegetables, dairy products, frozen meat, and breads are almost always available to supplement canned and packaged foods.
- Baby food, infant formula, and diapers are distributed when available.
- Toiletries and other Supplies of Daily Living (SDLs) are offered when available.
- Pet food is offered monthly through Colorado Pet Pantry.
- The pantry serves as a site for food commodity distribution to seniors through collaboration with Food Bank of the Rockies and the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP).
The pantry is located at 3201 S. Tamarac Dr., Denver. Hours are Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
