Denver Reaches Vaccination Milestone
"This is a major accomplishment for our city and a testament to the hard work of our residents," Mayor Michael Hancock said.

DENVER, CO — Denver reached a milestone this week — 70 percent of residents have received at least one dose of their coronavirus vaccine, the city announced Wednesday.
President Joe Biden's goal is for 70 percent of Americans to be vaccinated with at least one dose by the 4th of July, and Mayor Michael Hancock said he's proud Denver has reached that goal early.
“This is a major accomplishment for our city and a testament to the hard work of our residents who have continued to put the health and safety of themselves, their family and their community front and center,” Hancock said in a statement.

“As our vaccination rates rise, and thanks to that hard work, we’ve been able to responsibly reopen our city, and I encourage everyone who hasn’t yet to get their shot so we can get across that finish line.”
Hospitalization rates have dropped significantly — than 200 people are currently hospitalized with COVID-19 in the Denver metro region, marking the lowest rate since April 4. There has also been a 90 reduction in COVID-19 case rates, public health officials said.
