Denver Students, Staff To Wear Masks Through End Of School Year

Denver public school students and staff will be required to continue wearing face masks through the end of the school year.

DENVER, CO – Denver public school students and staff will be required to continue wearing face masks through the end of the school year.

For the remainder of the school year, students and staff will continue wearing masks indoors and outdoors, maintain physical distancing, complete daily health screens, meet virtually and will not hold in-person meetings, and practice good hand hygiene.

Following the CDC's updated mask guidance last week, Governor Jared Polis lifted the state's mask requirement and changed the state's guidance to masking suggestions. As part of the new guidance, Polis also announced that schools will phase out the mask requirement in school, with fully vaccinated teachers and students allowed to stop wearing masks now, if their districts allow.
