Kids' DIY Mother's Day Craft Workshops Coming Up Near You

Mom will adore these handmade gifts - and your children will have a great time making them at Home Depot and Michaels.

Handmade gifts and cards from your youngsters on Mother's Day -- is there anything sweeter?

This year, Mother's Day falls on Sunday, May 13, and two retailers, Home Depot and Michaels, are hosting craft events for your little ones.

At Home Depot locations, on Saturday, May 5 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., you and your child can join a free, hands-on workshop and build a windmill planter to hold flowers or herb plants. Children can decorate the gift with paint and stickers.

At Michaels stores on Saturdays, May 5 and May 12, there will be other DIY events, as part of the company's Kids Club.

On Saturday, May 5 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. for ages 3 and up for $2, and for ages 6 and up for $5, children can enjoy a card-making project.

On Saturday, May 12 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., youngsters will enjoy making a paper-flower bouquet for Mom using their handprints. The cost is $2 for ages 3 and up, and $5 for ages 6 and up.

Parents can sign up in store or online, or just drop in, Michaels said. Parents or guardians must remain on store premises during the events. Click here to find your store and follow the links to the Michaels classes.
