the fast-casual burger restaurant closed 40 percent of locations, saying they were unprofitable. New locations will reopen as "Lark Spot."

DENVER, CO – Fast-casual burger joint Larkburger closed four "underperforming" Colorado restaurants and two in Kansas City on Tuesday in a rebranding move.
About 80 employees will lose their jobs, but may be offered relocation opportunities in the company's new rebranded restaurant concept "Lark Spot."
The closed Colorado locations were at Downtown Denver, Washington Park, University Hills and Broomfield, the company said.

According to the company, "Every Lark Spot will be a gathering place for friends and families that share in our love of the adventure-seeking Colorado lifestyle." A prototype of the new restaurant concept is already open in Arvada's Arbor Village neighborhood.
New restaurants will feature bars offering Colorado craft beer, wine, kombucha and hard seltzers, the company said. Self-service kiosks will replace existing order-takers and cashiers.

The company said they would be expanding the menu to include a "new veggie sandwich" and the hangout lounges will host "DIY classes, movie nights and events" as well as "a little library to help plan your next outdoor adventure."
The remaining locations will be converted to Lark Spot restaurants over the next few months, the company said.
