List Of 'Social Distancing' Road Closures In Denver

DENVER, CO — Denver’s Department of Transportation and Infrastructure is temporarily closing some streets to create more space for people too walk, bike and run, city officials said. The closures aim to allow pedestrians and cyclists more room for social distancing amid the coronavirus outbreak.

The street closures are occurring in neighborhoods with higher population densities and busy parks, city officials said. Areas of the city that don’t have immediate access to a park or trail are also being prioritized.

While the roads will be closed to thru-traffic, drivers who live on the street will be allowed access to their homes, officials said. Those who need to access a spot on the stretch of roadway that is closed will also be allowed access.

"People in cars are urged to go very slowly and use extreme caution on these shared streets," officials said.

  • E. 11th Avenue from Lincoln Street to Humboldt Street
• Sloan Lake Neighborhood
  • Bryon Place from Zenobia Street to Stuart Street
  • Stuart Street from 24th Avenue to 21st Avenue
• North Capitol Hill/City Park West Neighborhoods
  • E. 16th Avenue from Pennsylvania Street to City Park Esplanade
• West Denver
  • Irving Street from 2nd Avenue to Gill Place
• Northeast Denver
  • Bolling Drive from Chambers Road to Dillon Street
• Washington Park/Speer
  • Marion Parkway from Virginia Avenue to Downing Street/Bayaud Avenue
