More Than 2,000 Flights Canceled In Denver During Snowstorm
The majority of flights out of Denver International Airport were canceled over the weekend and runways were closed Sunday.
DENVER, CO — More than 2,000 flights out of Denver International Airport were canceled over the weekend after a snowstorm hit Colorado. All runways were closed late Sunday morning.
More than 740 flights were canceled Saturday, and at least 1,300 flights were canceled Sunday.
The National Weather Service issued a blizzard warning Sunday for Denver's western metro area, Boulder and other Colorado cities.

"Significant snow accumulations have already occurred across the Front Range Mountains and Foothills, with a few spots already seeing greater than 2 feet, and well over a foot in the Fort Collins area," the storm alert read.
Winds gusted between 30 and 40 mph, weather officials said.

The most severe conditions from deep accumulating snow occurred in and near the Front Range mountains and foothills, where totals of 2 to 4 feet of snow fell. One to two feet of snow fell along the I-25 urban corridor.

The Colorado National Guard was deployed over the weekend to respond to emergencies during the snowstorm.
