  • Barolo Grill: 3030 E 6th Ave., Denver

This award-winning restaurant in Cherry Creek North serves northern Italian fare that's inspired by the provinces of Piedmont and Tuscany. The eatery features food from Colorado farms and producers.

"Owner and wine director Ryan Fletter is proud to feature small family wineries that are dedicated to Earth-friendly farming and winemaking philosophies," the restaurant's OpenTable profile read. "Barolo Grill has one of the largest collections of Barolo wines outside of Italy."

  • Chimney Park: 406 Main Street, Windsor

Chimney Park is another award-winning Colorado restaurant that's known for its abundant wine cellar. The eatery serves steak, seafood and contemporary American fare.

"Chef de Cuisine, John Gutierrez sources local, seasonal and organic products from Colorado and the surrounding region," the restaurant's profile read. "Whether it’s a special occasion, evening with friends or nightly happy hour in the bar, Chimney Park offers an approachable, sophisticated atmosphere!"

The restaurant underwent a renovation in 2017, which marked its 10th anniversary since its building went up in 1895.

“We craft this list every year to help diners looking for inspiration for the most popular date night of the year,” said Jessica Jensen, senior vice president of marketing at OpenTable, in a press release. “Whether it’s a special night with your significant other, a girls night out, or your first outing with someone new, these restaurants have passed the test of setting the table for exceptional ambiance and an incredible meal.”

OpenTable generated the 2020 list based solely from dinner reviews collected between Dec. 1, 2018, and Nov. 30, 2019. To be included, all the restaurants needed a minimum overall score and a certain number of qualifying reviews.

The qualifying restaurants were then scored and sorted according to the percentage of reviews, for which “romantic” was selected as a special feature.

The full list of romantic restaurants is available on OpenTable.
