A 55-second clip features the mother mountain lion's growl, and one of her cubs' chirp response, as they come face-to-face with the camera.
PALMER LAKE, CO — A mountain lion traveling through the snow with her three cubs was captured head-on by a trail cam on St. Patrick’s Day.
The video was shared by Krista B. of the Palmer Lake area on KKTV-11’s photo and video gallery, showing what the Colorado Springs-based news station reported as “an amazing moment” that showcases “our beautiful state.”
The mountain lion and cubs are first seen in the 55-second clip in the background of the camera view, stride by stride moving forward and more into view.

As they arrived just feet from the camera, the mother made a growl-like sound as one of the cubs immediately responded with what sounded like a chirp.
