The list of top places was made using data from the U.S. Census Bureau, the FBI, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and other sources.

According to the study, these are the 20 best neighborhoods and towns in Colorado:

5. Inverness
6. Greenwood Village
7. South Park Hill neighborhood, Denver
8. Highlands Ranch
9. Castle Pines
10. Centennial
11. Congress Park neighborhood, Denver
12. Louisville
13. Capitol Hill neighborhood, Denver
14. Wellshire neighborhood, Denver
15. City Park neighborhood, Denver
16. Washington Park neighborhood, Denver
17. Lone Tree
18. Boulder
19. Country Club neighborhood, Denver
20. City Park West neighborhood, Denver

The rankings consider a variety of topics to determine a town or city's standing, including affordability, local housing market, neighborhood diversity, local public schools and walkability, to name a few.
