One Of World's Largest Contact-Free Markets Opens In Denver

You won't have to go through a traditional checkout at this Choice Market in Denver.

DENVER, CO — The Denver-based Choice Market opened one of the world's largest contact-free and 'frictionless' markets in the city Friday.

The 5,000-square-foot market, at 939 Bannock St., doesn't have a traditional checkout system — shoppers can scan their Choice Market app when they come into the store, pick up their groceries, and leave. They will receive a receipt on their phone after they leave the store.

“This is a huge moment, not only for us, but for the entire industry,” said Mike Fogarty, Choice founder and CEO, in a statement. “We are beyond excited to partner with AiFi to launch our Choice: NOW shopping experience, which provides our customers a contactless, convenient and independent shopping option.

Shoppers who have the Choice app also have another option: they can order any item in the market, including alcohol, and it will be delivered to their door in "45 minutes or less," the company said.

Choice Market Bannock features a full-service kitchen and a large selection of seasonal produce, dairy and protein departments. There is a large selection of grab and go options, including deli salads, sushi, family meals and snack packs.

The store also offers products from more than 60 Colorado suppliers, including Method Coffee Roasters and High Point Creamery, which have storefronts inside Choice Bannock.

The store is on the ground level of Parq on Speer, a high-rise Greystar apartment community. Shoppers will be able to recognize the store by a mural that was painted by Denver artist Pat Milbery and SoGnar Creative.

Choice Market Bannock will be open every day from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. and has plans to open 24/7 later this year, the company said. Choice has three locations in the Denver metro area.
