Teen Fatally Shot Near Denver Park IDed
A 16-year-old teen was shot and killed Thursday morning near West Bar Val Wood Park playing fields.
DENVER, CO – The Office of the Denver Medical Examiner identified the person shot and killed Thursday, April 11 near a Denver park as a 16-year-old teen.
Bryan DeHerrera was found shot around 9:20 a.m. near the West Bar Val Wood Park playing fields in the 100 block of South Yuma Street in the Valverde neighborhood. He was taken to a hospital, but died of his injuries, police said.
The medical examiner's office determined the cause of death to be gunshot wounds and the manner of death to be a homicide. Police had made no arrests by Friday.
