WATCH: Rocker Ryan Adams Plays Weatherman For Denver TV News

"This is exactly as weird as I thought it would be ... Whoa," said the wannabe weatherman.

DENVER, CO – Alt rocker Ryan Adams is not weatherman material. But, he always wanted to be one and on Wednesday, he got the chance to do just that for Denver 7.

Adams, who's performing Thursday night at Red Rocks, was invited via Twitter to come to the station by Denver7 anchor Shannon Ogden. On the segment, which aired during the 5 p.m. newscast Wednesday, Adams revealed that his long-time dream was to be a weatherman. He attributed that desire to the movie "Twister."

"This is so cool, this is unreal," Adams confides while at the anchor desk during the newscast. "I was sitting there, three cats hanging out at my house, next thing you know, I'm on the news."

As promised in a jingle he wrote for the station, he appeared in his Batman T-shirt and flannel shirt, an outfit completed with sunglasses and an unkempt rocker 'doo. Stepping in front of the green screen, Adams provided a somewhat bumpy forecast.

"Whoa, I don't know what I'm doing," Adams says as he introduces 5-day forecast. "It looks like it's going to be 60, storms in the east ... For anyone who's super into the wind, there you go," he says as he points to words on the screen forecasting 10 to 15 mph winds from the southeast. "Sunrise is at 5:30 a.m., so get home early."

The Denver7 team also surprised Adams by displaying his lyrics on the screen and asking him to sing. Adams turns around and with his back to the camera and...well, he was sort of awestruck.

"If you look at the screen while in the weather ... You guys this is so weird. This is exactly as weird as I thought it would be ... Whoa." He never did sing during the forecast. You'll have to go to Red Rocks to see and hear that.
