$12.25M Coors Parcel To Sell To Golden For Civic Center

The new Civic Center will house city hall offices, as well as the police department and the Golden History Museum.

GOLDEN, CO – Golden will buy an administrative office from MillerCoors and turn it into a civic center, the city announced Tuesday. The city will spend $12.25 million on the 7.1-acre parcel that includes a 600,000 sq. ft. office building. The building at 311 10th Street is currently a corporate office center for MillerCoors USA.

The city's new Civic Center will house the city hall offices, the Golden Police Department the Golden History Museum, as well as other "community cultural entities," the city said in a press release.

The new Civic Center is envisioned as "a vibrant gathering place for the community with consolidated City offices as well as room for some of our cultural entities to expand and thrive," said Jason Slowinski, city manager.

The Golden Investment Task Force working group met since 2018 to craft the plan to purchase the parcel, which will "allow the city greater control over the future development of the Clear Creek corridor in downtown Golden," the city said in a press release.
