Bulging Tunnel Wall Closes Part Of Hwy. 6: CDOT

Motorists should plan on US 6 being closed between Hwy 119 and US 40 until 6 a.m. Sept. 18

From CDOT:On the morning of Monday, Sept. 17, the Colorado Department of Transportation closed US 6/Clear Creek Canyon from Highway 119 to US 40 after noticing that the wall of one of the tunnels was deteriorating. Crews have been working to make repairs to the tunnel before reopening this section of the Canyon. Motorists should plan on US 6 being closed between Highway 119 and US 40 until 6 a.m. tomorrow, Sept. 18.

Motorists can use Interstate 70 as a detour and can still access US 40 from I-70 and Highway 119 from US 6.
